Isn't She Lovely...

I just wanted to share with all of you, these beautiful pictures of Harper. Emilee and I spent the day together, and like always, she brought her camera. I'm so glad she does. I can't get over how sweet she is. It warms my heart every time I see her. She looks just like a little china doll. It's so hard to believe she is almost 11 weeks already! She is now 23" long and almost 12 lbs. She is fitting into her REALLY cute clothes now, and we are even starting to put the clothes buying on hold for some interactive toys. She is growing up so fast!

I Still Remember How I Felt That Day.

I can't believe it's been 2 years already. It has gone by so fast and yet so much has happened. I think back to the day of our wedding, how I felt, and I can still remember every nervous thought going through my head. We had spent the last 15 months planning and planning to ensure that day was perfect, yet the only moments I cared at all about were the "I Do's". We have had a million wonderful days, a few bad ones, and one moment that took our breath away. I couldn't imagine experiencing any of these times in my life with out Adam. I have never regretted a day spent with him. I can't wait to see what the future holds for the Brown family.

Adam,

You have made me so happy. You gave me the best gift I could ever ask for. Happy Anniversary sweetie. I will always love you.

"I Love You THIS Much"

Emilee got Harper her first monogrammed outfit. She looked so cute. She wore it to our friend Meredith's wedding shower. Harper completed her look with a magenta hairband with a white bow, and her new silver shoes. She had a long day and crashed hard when we got home.

Beach Baby, Beach Baby...

We hit the beach last weekend for the first time this year. We went to a friend's wedding at Atlantic Beach and had a great time!! We stayed with our good friends Lauren and Bryan at their beach house. The weather could not have been more perfect despite the threat of thunderstorms. I'm glad we tempted fate and challenged the WRAL weather team.

This was our first time out of town with the baby. We couldn't have asked for her to be any better. We packed up the car Friday morning with everything we/she owns. We didn't want to take the chance that the one thing she needed would be the one thing we left at home. We realized at that point, we need a much bigger car. Harper slept in her pack'n'play both nights and was perfect. We have only used it for the occasional nap at the house, so we were admittedly a little nervous. She is a good sleeper and for that we are very thankful. We took Harper out on the beach Saturday morning. We didn't spend very much time out there because it was getting pretty warm, but she seemed to really enjoy just kicking around on the towel in the warm breeze. She was by far the best looking girl on the beach, and I think even Adam would admit that. This short 3 day vacation went so well, it has given us the confidence to plan more out-of -town trips with the baby. Maybe next time we will tackle the friendly skies.

Just a quick one

Yeah, 2 months old and so stink'n' cute!! She has changed so much in the past 2 weeks let alone 2 months. She is doing so well in her crib. She has slept there every night since the first night we tried it. She is doing really well with putting herself to sleep. We have very few times we need to go back in to comfort her. She has been sleeping at least 5 and most of the time 6 hours at a time each night for the last week or so. Last night she shocked us both by sleeping an entire 8 hours!! I needed to go and wake her up to feed her. She barely stayed awake long enough to eat and she was out again for another 3 hours. I'm sure this won't last, but it was really nice.

What a Great Day!

Mother's Day has always been a special day for us to show our Moms how much they mean to us. We all know we should tell them this everyday, but in case we forget, Mother's Day is a gentle reminder. This Mother's Day was admittedly the most meaningful for me. Naturally, it was exciting to be the one appreciated and told how wonderful I am, but this year I had a new appreciation for my own mom. I'm sure that everyone thinks they have the best mom in the world, myself included. The truth of the matter is, I don't care if she is in fact the best mom in the world, she is the best mom for me. We are all different people and require different parenting. I'm sure we are all given our own mothers and our own children for a specific reason. I wouldn't be who I am today if my mom was anyone else, therefore she is the best mother in the world for me. I hope in 30 years, when Harper has children of her own, she will come to this same conclusion. Whether I am the best mother in the world or not, I hope she thinks I was the best one for her.

Seek to be Chic everyday of the Week.

Modern and unique, Harper's going chic!

I'm sure she is unaware of the importance of accessories at this point. However, with daily practice and teaching by yours truly, she will surely come to understand and appreciate them. We have already had showers and holidays this year where only the proper accessories were acceptable. There are still more showers, 3 weddings, and a few more holidays to be thinking about. The irony of this is that, while I always make time to dress and accessorize her to the nines, I rarely leave any time to complete my own outfit. Oh well, she has become my best accessory. She makes me look good.

I Can See!

There is a whole world out there beyond 8 to 10 inches, and Harper is diving right into it. In just the past week we have noticed things grabbing her attention at a much farther range than before. She is now entertained by the mobile in her crib and the toys hanging from her bouncy seat. The most recent discovery has been the TV. She gets completely mesmerized every time we walk past it holding her. I'm sure we will be battling this "addiction" to television in a few years, but right now it lends itself very useful. Just think what lies past 3 feet.

How long will it last??!!

In the midst of documenting all of Harper's magnificent milestones, I've been ignoring the one bad one we have been hit with. Harper has been battling a full blown case of the "baby acne". I know it happens to almost all babies, and no matter how many times doctors and other moms tell me this, It doesn't make it any less disheartening to see your sweet new baby with a rash all over her face. This is the time when you most want to show off how beautiful they are, and all you can see is red bumps. I know it will all go away soon, but I don't know if it will be in the next week or the next month. So sad for the Brown family, but better times are sure to come. I have decided to only put her in her CUTEST outfits every day until it goes away. Maybe that will take the attention away from the acne and make me feel better in return. I'm sure her true fans will stick with her through this troubled time in her life.

On a brighter note, along with the acne, has come some of the cutest "chunk rolls" I've ever seen. They are a work in progress, and they still have a long way to go, but it's nice to see them coming along so nicely.
